WHAT IS KOMBUCHA?

Kombucha is a fermented beverage brewed using tea, sugar and a kombucha culture (a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast aka SCOBY). The fermentation process transforms the tea culture into a delicious and healthy beverage, naturally rich with Probiotics, Antioxidants, Amino Acids, Polyphenols and Active Enzymes. Kombucha has similar nutritional goodness to other cultured foods such as yogurt and kefir – these support the growth of healthy bacteria in our gut. Kombucha helps boost your digestion, detoxification and immune system.

OUR CULTURE

At Belly Good Kombucha, we use only premium quality, sustainably sourced organic ingredients. Our culture is an authentic, healthy kombucha culture. We put a lot of care and attention into keeping our culture happy and healthy. After all, a healthy culture creates delicious kombucha!

OUR TEA

As passionate advocates of good delicious food, we believe that quality teas = quality kombucha. We brew our kombucha using great quality, consciously sourced teas. We use premium tea biscuits for all our kombucha. We work closely with a local tea company equally as passionate about growing and harvesting their teas naturally. They have a various tea plantations in Yunnan province, China, where the climate and topography is renowned for the production of excellent teas.

We have carefully blended and researched on the best tea to provide the kombucha culture with optimal balance of nutrients to produce optimally balanced acids, giving the brew it’s crisp and refreshing character. Our teas are blended right before brewing to ensure their beautiful aroma and depth of flavour are consistently captured in each batch of kombucha.

OUR SUGAR

All beings need nourishment. Kombucha cultures derive their food source from, you guessed it: SUGAR!

Our fair trade, organic evaporated cane juice gives life to our culture. Working together, the kombucha culture of bacteria and yeast convert most of the sugars in the cane juice and the nutrients in the brewed tea into beneficial acids, enzymes and probiotics. This complex transformation from simple tea, sugar, bacteria and yeast into the nourishing kombucha that we all know and love is just as fascinating as watching your wild sourdough bread rise and double right before your eyes!
